We love seeing Downtown’s rich history come alive through spaces like Apartment 119A at 121 E Erwin, lovingly restored by the O’Sullivan family, longtime champions of downtown revitalization. 🧱✨
This building earned the Best Restoration Award from the Texas Downtown Association way back in 1996! That’s nearly 30 years of pride in preserving what makes Downtown Tyler unique.
Even though this particular loft has already been leased, we highly recommend stopping by today between 3–6 PM to take in the space, the craftsmanship, and that iconic view of the courthouse construction 🤩

Meet Nolan Smith, one of the newest members of the Heart of Tyler board!
This is Nolan’s first year serving on the board, and he’s already loving the opportunity to work alongside others who are passionate about revitalizing and supporting Downtown Tyler.
Nolan grew up in Tyler and has lived here most of his life. After graduating from law school, he and his wife, Stacy, moved back to Tyler to raise their family. They have one daughter and feel fortunate to be surrounded by family, with both sets of parents also living in Tyler.
We’re excited to have Nolan’s heart for service and love for our city on the team!

Meet Meg Matus, Heart of Tyler Board Member. Originally from New Orleans, Meg and her husband Bryan relocated to Tyler to begin her dream of owning a Rotolo’s and starting a family. Together, they’ve successfully built both—with heart, hustle, and a love for community.
The Matus family now includes three children: Nola, Mac, and Roux. Following the success of Rotolo’s in South Tyler, the business expanded downtown this year with a new slice counter inside Plaza Tower at True Vine on the Square. Meg’s drive and vision also led to the opening of a brand-new Rotolo’s location in Carrollton, TX, growing their footprint while staying rooted in local values.
Meg’s passion for small business, community engagement, and family makes her a valued and inspiring member of the Heart of Tyler board!

With a deep commitment to downtown revitalization and community engagement, She has continuously served the organization for over a decade! Even during the one year mandated hiatus from the board, Carleen remained actively involved as the Economic Vitality Chair and an Ex-Officio member—maintaining steady leadership and involvement throughout.
